CFO

Tom joined the Company in September 2021.  Prior to joining the Company, Tom was the VP and GM of Mobile Pipe. Inc. a private equity owned coater and liner of pipe and fittings in Adelanto, CA.  Before that, Tom was the CFO of Aqua Chem, Inc., another private equity owned manufacturer of water distillation equipment in Knoxville, TN.  Tom has spent 30+ years in the turnaround space in a variety of manufacturing and services industries.  Tom received his undergraduate degree in Economics and an MBA from the University of Virginia.

Matt Key

Director of Program Management

Matt joined Thomson Plastics back in August 2011.  Prior to the promotion of Director of Program Management, Matt worked as Program Engineering and Program Manager over many strategic and long lasting Customer accounts worth more than 50% of sales.  Brings 10+ years of Program Management experience and a new vision to the Program Management office.   Also, continued further Education with Georgia Tech in the Program Management Professionals, 5S Lean Manufacturing, Jobs/Methods Training.  Matt received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Mathematics from the University of South Carolina – Aiken.

Genu Rebottaro

VP of Operations

Seasoned Operations Leader with over thirty years of experience in manufacturing.  Genu has experience in many manufacturing processes including urethane molding, blow molding, wood fiber molding, carpet and headliner systems; however primary focus has been in injection molding.  Originally from the greater Detroit area the first 20 years of his career was in the automotive industry as a tier I and tier II supplier.  Genu joined the Thomson Plastics team in March of 2014 in Thomson, GA.  Shortly after joining the team he relocated and launched our Lexington, NC facility as Plant Manager in July of the same year.  Most recently promoted to the position of Vice President of Operations in 2020, Genu leads our plants in the pursuit of operational excellence.

Steve Derdzinski

Thomson Plant Manager

Steve joined the Thomson team in August 2021 and brings 40+ years of experience from Process Engineer, Plant Manager, and Director of Manufacturing.  Steve studied Process Engineering at College of DuPage in DuPage, IL.  Prior to working at Thomson, Steve worked 10 years as Plant Manager of Caprock Manufacturing in Texas that also specializes in Injection Molding.  The 40+ years on experience brings excellence in markets such as Automotive, Recreational, RV, Industrial, Appliance, etc..  Steve is well known for managing world class organizations through growth.

Todd Rasmussen

Howell Plant Manager

Todd joined Thomson Plastics back in 2014 at our Howell, MI location.  Todd brings 20+ years of Plant Management experience to the team leading our Howell, MI location that is a Tier 2 to most of the Automotive OEM’s.  Successfully implemented and obtained IATF-16949 certification, within the first 16 months of operation. Prior to Thomson, Todd worked at KPMG LLP as a Site Manager and Operations Specialists.

Kim Smith

Lexington Plant Manager

Kim is an innovative individual with a strong background in customer service and logistics. She joined the Thomson Plastics Lexington team in 2014 as the Customer Service Representative and in 2015 became the Materials Supervisor. She has used her creativity in the aide and successful growth of the Lexington team where she became the Plant Manager in 2022.

Chris Merritt

Duncan Operations Manager

Chris joined Thomson Plastics in 2017 at our Lexington facility as the Quality Manager.  In 2022 he moved to Duncan to lead the operation in its pursuit of excellence.  Chris has extensive experience with Tier 1 automotive manufacturing in plastics and rubber and has been in the injection molding industry since 2013.  He is also a Certified Quality Engineer through ASQ, Certified IATF 16949 auditor through North Carolina State University and a VDA certified Product Safety Representative.
